The English noun people (singular "person") refers to a plurality of human beings. It has two usages:

Because the word people often refers to abstract and general types of groups, the word persons is sometimes used in place of people, especially when it would be ambiguous with its collective sense (e.g. missing persons instead of people). It can collectively refer to all humans or it can be used to identify a certain ethnic or religious group. For example, "people of color" is a phrase used in North America to describe non-whites.

  • A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals, and you know it.
  • Show me a man or a woman alone and I'll show you a saint. Give me two and they'll fall in love. Give me three and they'll invent the charming thing we call 'society'. Give me four and they'll build a pyramid. Give me five and they'll make one an outcast. Give me six and they'll reinvent prejudice. Give me seven and in seven years they'll reinvent warfare. Man may have been made in the image of God, but human society was made in the image of His opposite number, and is always trying to get back home.

  • I judge people by what they might be,—not are, nor will be.
  • The people will live on. The learning and blundering people will live on.

How can I prevent people from taking advantage of me constantly and not live in regret?
Q. Everyone I have been dealing with in business has been letting me down in so many ways that I just want to disappear. I am constantly sorry dealing with people after losing my money, energy and time. I am losing with each and every single one of them. I am constantly making mistakes with the people I choose to trust and work with. I give more respect to these people than I give to myself and then they spit on me or rudly ignor me and take the money and literally run. I have robed myself of too much all the time and I know better but I give people the benefit of the doubt anyway. How can I change and what can I do to stop being so nice to people who don't care about me. I am far from being finanically rich and everyone knows this, so… [cont.]

A. Business is business. Figure out what you need to make in order to make a sufficient profit and stick to it. "Nice" should not be in a business vocabulary. "Friendly, good service, good product, timely", these are business words. People will always take what they can get. It's up to you to present your business in an attractive way and still make a profit. Figure out what your true investment is, decide on a price, and have the confidence to be firm about it. Find other reasons why people will want what you have,i.e. quality, style, exclusivity, speed, etc. Sell those points.

How do some people get to be fortunate enough to have work @ home jobs, & they don't help others get them?
Q. I mean, even if it ISN'T a home-based business. I hear how some people work @ home. How can some people be lucky like that if 97% of work @ home offers are scams? & for people who ARE successfully working from home, how come you can't tell anyone what you do & how you get access to such good job? I thought with business, you're supposed to recruit people & help them, too.

A. Because nobody actually has those work-at-home jobs, and legitimate business owners want their staff to show up to the workplace every day. The few people who do really work at home aren't just cruising the internet spamming message boards and posting AdWords. They're typing legal documents as a transcriptionist or paralegal, running their own home-based technical business or consultancy, or being brokers, bakers, etc. They have no use for a faraway home-based staff member who they're never going to meet.

What causes old people to become childish in mentality?
Q. When they get older , many older people become childish thinking. Thinking about very trivial things and act like little children about things. What is the cause of this? I know it is a form of seniality , but could sombody explain what is happening in their body or brain? Also does this happen to people , say in their 30's as well. Or maybe some people just never really "grow up"? Why do some people who should be married and having adult life, still behave as little children? Something similar to above?
Asked by Charles R - Thu Feb 15 17:45:57 2007 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Dementia - the higher centers of the brain - the cerbral cortex - become dysfunctional as people age (esp if they have alzhemiers) and that is why people become childish. if people in their 30's behave like that, it usually means they have a personality problem
