What's up with me!?
Q. I'm 15 I know that I changed a lot these past months, I have decent grades, I had friends, I know myself better, I got out from my depressions and some insecurity but I feel like nothing is happening, I tried to do a lot in school since its only five weeks left- like getting to know my favorite teacher better, drawing a lot so I could leave a legacy behind and stuff- I always wanted to do more but things keep holding me back I guess, like right now what am I doing up at 1:30 AM? It's testing week and I with no studies, why do I always imagine myself in need of a girl friend? and I know I wont have one, plus theres alotta things I have to do. And why did I suddenly stop doing work (well I never use to do more work including math) I seem… [cont.]

A. Your thoughts are exactly why I am glad I will never be a teenager again. Everything and I mean everything you are worrying about is typical for your age. You are probably an over achiever and very bright and therefore give yourself an over-analyzation of yourself. This will have a snowball effect to more over-analyzing until...you get laid. I used to be like you until I left highschool. My best advice is to not worry so much and be yourself. Take care of your appearance and be yourself, dont be uptight, relax and have a good time. Some girl is bound to notice. Just let it happen, dont freak out or rush anything and it will all fall into place. Again...RELAX!!! All your over-achieving efforts will payoff in giving you a rich… [cont.]

Can I get into Boston College or NYU?
Q. I am a sophomore at a New Jersey all-girls Catholic school. I am a good student, but I am worried about colleges and what schools that I can get into. Here is my resume: PSAT Score (I hope to break a 2000 when I take it as a junior) Overall Score: 1630 Critical Reading: 560 Mathematics: 430 (this will rise, as I am only taking Geometry Honors now and the test encompasses the entirety of 10th grade Geometry.) Writing Skills: 640 GPA: 3.75 (unweighted, with all Honors courses and an advanced junior French class) Extracurricular Activities: -book reviewer for my local newspaper (8 months) -staff writer on the school newspaper -writing published in Teen Ink Magazine -sole sophomore member of my school's literary magazine -entered some essay… [cont.]

A. There are so many factors that go into college acceptance that I can't make an incredibly accurate analysis. That being said, you're in good shape. PSAT: Your scores aren't good enough to be beneficial for you, but SAT scores rarely single-handedly destroy one's chances of acceptance. GPA: Dependant on your school. A 3.75 at one school could be the equivalent of a 4.0 somewhere else or a 3.50 at another place. I can't say for sure, but a 3.75 sounds good enough. Extracurriculars: You sound like a very good writer. Great extracurriculars. eBay thing sounds impressive. Definitely a plus for you. Misc.: Sounds fine. Conclusion: Extracurriculars are amazing. Your grades are good, but not amazing. PSAT score isn't good at all. If… [cont.]
